I got my quilting inspiration when I was a little girl growing up in the 1950s. My mom & dad were my inspiration. I made my first quilt when I was 10. I went to all the neighbor's and gathered material. Mom help me hand sew all the blocks and dad built the quilting frame. WE all quilted, mom, dad and even my two older brothers. I still have the quilt and the memories of that time though my parents have passed on. I still love to quilt thanks to them.

I am nearly always inspired by one bit of fabric that I fall in love with. After that it's all the fun of finding the perfect project to fit it (quilts and clothes and pillows, oh my!), and other fabrics to compliment it...but it starts with that first, beautiful piece of cloth. :-)

The fabrics themselves are often the strongest inspiration. I want to try to do them justice by finding a pattern that would suit the style and scale. Then I get most inspiration online and some from books, as well.
