If only it was hot - at present we are in the depths of winter and it is quite cold (by tropical standards). All I want to do is curl up under a quilt not sew.
Anonymous said…
My friend pointed me at this by facebooking it (I have the most wonderful friends!). Lovely fabrics.

Not too hot here yet, so that's not affecting my sewing. The 15-week-old son, the house renovations and the 5-year-old coming up to end of term is doing all that!

The heat makes me and the dogs head for the air con unit with ice blocks in, perfect for sewing :)
Mind being in the UK we don't get many hot days.

the heat is keeping me inside sewing. I love it.
Sel said…
It's winter right now in Oz, which makes it damned chilly quilting, so I put a heater in my workroom and draw the curtains to keep the heat in!

In summer, if it's crazy hot (ie. 45C) then I don't quilt, 'cos the quilting room is the hottest in the house.
deserae said…
Heat hasn't affected me yet! :)
The heat really hasn't affected my sewing too much as long as I stay under the A/C - and it was 106 degrees here yesterday. However, I do tend to do my machine sewing in the morning on the west side of the house and hand sewing in the afternoon on the east side of the house - anything to stay just that little bit cooler. Thanks for a great giveaway!

We don't have an A/C unit in our bedroom so it has def. affected my sleeping but fortunately my sewing table is in the living room area with the A/C so I can sew to my hearts content without sweating away :)

I love this fabric bundle! The heat does affect my quilting, but usually doesn't bother me as far as sewing machine work. I live in Africa and have no A.C. :)
Kate S. said…
Oops, commented to fast and then realized I should answer the question! ha. The heat has made me a bit less inclined to do sewing that involves a lot of ironing, like quilting... especially since my sewing room already gets really hot, and I tend to forget to turn up the AC. But I still have been getting in a good amount of sewing time! Thanks for the chance to enter :)
Aaryn and Tifni said…
No - but it affects the time of day I sew! Now I sew in the evening after I've put in a hard day laying by the pool :)

It has yet to be really hot this summer, mostly we've had an unusual amount of rain. So, no, the heat has not been affecting my sewing.

I forgot to answer the actual question in my previous post- eek! So, YES, the heat has majorly affected my sewing, as in, I am sewing up a sew-storm lately because it is too darn hot and humid outside most of the time. In the last month I've made my six year old daughter 5 new dresses and I'm starting on reuseable tote bags to make for Christmas presents. (!)
Yes! Unfortunately the heat has affected my sewing. My kids are constantly bugging me to go to the pool, so that is where we head on a pretty regular basis which doesn't allow for much sewing time during the day!

No disruptions from sewing here. The only difference is that i only do blocks and piecing. The actual quilting will have to wait until fall or winter when its either cold or wet.

Vesuviusmama said…
The heat doesn't affect my sewing, but the longer days do. I love having natural light to sew by, so I spend more time in my sewing room in summer than in winter. I also get more hand work done sitting by the pool while my kids splash away or on my porch with a cup of iced tea or lemonade.
